I guess when you turn off the main road, you have to be prepared to see something different
A short essay about my grandmother’s native home Pužolova, which is a hamlet in Latgale (eastern region of Latvia). Previously Latgale was influenced by different political and religious influences and historically differed from the rest of the country. Currently, Pužolova has two inhabitants left. The essay travels through time; my teenage years of exploring the countryside and my grandma’s youth during the war.
